History of Chateau Loudenne:

Château Loudenne is a wine estate in the Médoc region of Bordeaux. It produces several ranges in all three colors but is best known for red wines based on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The main property lies on the coast of the Gironde, a short distance to the east of Saint-Yzans-de-Médoc. The estate in total covers 132 hectares (326 acres) across several sites; of around 62ha (153 acres) are planrted to vines. These are in coverstion to organic certification with Ecocert.

Loudenne Le Château (main label)

The Médoc Rouge is a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, usually in equal or near-equal proportions. Some vintages include a small component of Cabernet Franc.

The 45 hectares of black grapevines used for the wine sit on two hills gravel mixed with clay on a limestone subsoil. It is fermented in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks and concrete vats, and aged in barrels for 12 to 16 months, with one third new oak.
