Domaine Dugat-Py's Bourgogne Rouge has a brilliant garnet red color. On the nose, it is powerful and complex with intense aromas of violets and blackcurrants, wild berries, and light smoky notes. On the palate, it is well structured and fresh with firm tannins that predict good aging capacity. The finish is elegant and persistent.

  • The celebrated estate of Dugat-Py, located at the base of the Combe de Lavaux in Gevrey-Chambertin, has been producing world-class wines for decades. While the exterior of the house impresses with its mid-16th-century architecture, it is the aging cellar that is truly spectacular. The cellar, or L'Aumônerie, is essentially a small abbey that was built by the Diocese of Dijon in the 11th century — making it the oldest cellar in Burgundy today.
  • The Dugat family has been growing grapes in Gevrey-Chambertin since the 17th century. The estate is currently in the capable hands of the 12th and 13th generation. Though labeled as “Bourgogne”, it’s actually Gevrey-Chambertin on the down-low. Farmed organically since 2003, Halinard consists of 100% Pinot Noir from vines that average 25 to 75 years in age with a clay-limestone soil profile. The wine aged for 15 to 18 months in 10% new oak barrels and is bottled unfiltered. Suitable for aging, but for near-immediate enjoyment, decant a few hours prior to serving.
