93-Point by Wine Enthusiast.
Aromas of raspberry confiture and cranberry jelly are accented by granite and tobacco in this exuberantly youthful, fruit-forward red. Intensely ripe yet pristine in blackberry and cherry flavors, it's a silky, thirst-quenching wine with fine-grained, silky tannins. Approachable now, it should hold well through 2030.
- “Perrière” meant “quarry” in Old French. As its name would suggest, the soil in Les Perrières is lean and stony and the subsoil is composed of white marble that continues to be extracted today. Both red (from the Pinot Noir grape) and white (from Pinot Blanc) wines are produced from the vineyard. The 45-year-old vines are managed in an ecologically responsible manner. This is a particularly early ripening plot due to the high proportion of limestone rocks that are warmed by the sun and transfer their heat to the soil.
