97- Point by Jeb Dunnuck & Antonio Galloni.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier comes from Knights Valley and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in puncheons. It's another beautiful, Bordeaux-like wine from Morlet that has lots of cassis and red plum fruits as well as cedarwood, graphite, crushed rocks, and violet aromas and flavor. Young and relatively unevolved, it has juicy acidity, plenty of mid-palate depth, sweet fruit, and a beautiful finish. Give bottles a good 3-4 years and it should keep for 20-25 years.

Winemaker Luc Morlet

Luc Morlet represents the fifth-generation of a French winemaking family, working under legendary wine consultant Jacques Boissenot (His expertise covered four of the five First Growths; Mouton, Lafite, Latour, Margaux) . In 1996 Luc relocated to Napa Valley to join Jodie, his California sweetheart. After five harvests crafting wines at Newton Vineyard alongside international consultant Michel Rolland, Luc was hired in 2001 as the winemaker for Peter Michael Winery. In 2006, as Luc transitioned to a consulting role at Peter Michael Winery (which he maintains to this day), he and Jodie founded Morlet Family Vineyards. Luc and Jodie Morlet handcraft vins de terroir and unique cuvées from the Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast.
